This study aims to observe what contributions musical interpretation, understood as a space for techno-aesthetic exercise, can offer to Technical Conducting training. The research starts from the observation that, in Vocational and Technological Education, especially in the Technical in Conducting course at the State Technical School of Arts (Escola Técnica Estadual de Artes – Etec de Artes), the Group Piano discipline constitutes a privileged space for the development of musical skills that articulate technique and aesthetics, favoring a more sensitive and conscious interpretative practice. The interest in the topic stems from teaching experiences and concerns about the place of musical interpretation in formative processes, which are still frequently marked by technicist and fragmented approaches. Based on references that understand musical interpretation as a hermeneutic and creative process, as well as on Gilbert Simondon's notion of techno-aesthetics, in dialogue with reflections on Professional and Technological Education, the research understands interpretation not only as a result of technical execution, but as a formative practice capable of articulating body, gesture, technique, and aesthetic expression. This qualitative research was developed along two interconnected axes: a theoretical foundation and an empirical investigation, unfolding in two complementary stages—documentary and field research. The first stage consists of a documentary analysis of the Technical Course Plan in Conducting at the Paula Souza State Center for Technological Education. The second phase, guided by participatory research, proposes interdisciplinary pedagogical activities at the Etec de Artes, articulating the knowledge developed in the subjects Complementary Instrument: Piano III and Conducting III – Theory and Choral Practice. The triangulation of data—comprising logbooks, annotated scores, and focused discussions with participants—allowed us to understand how the techno-aesthetic experience permeates technical training. The results indicate that the interpretative and inventive dimension inherent in conducting points to the need for training that organically connects technical mastery and aesthetic sensitivity. In this context, the techno-aesthetic perspective proposes a formative shift capable of provoking questions and reconfiguring the role of technique in the constitution of subjects in Vocational and Technological Education. |
