Comunicação assertiva como ferramenta na segurança do paciente

Abstract

A comunicação assertiva constitui um elemento essencial para a segurança do paciente no ambiente cirúrgico, pois favorece a troca eficaz de informações entre os profissionais de saúde e contribui para a prevenção de eventos adversos. Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar o conhecimento de alunos do curso Técnico em Enfermagem sobre comunicação assertiva, comportamentos disruptivos, adesão ao Checklist de Cirurgia Segura e segurança do paciente no Centro Cirúrgico. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, de abordagem quantiqualitativa, fundamentada no método hipotético-dedutivo. Participaram 102 alunos regularmente matriculados nos quatro módulos do curso Técnico em Enfermagem de uma instituição pública de ensino do interior do estado de São Paulo. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de questionário composto por questões objetivas relacionadas aos eixos de comunicação, comportamentos disruptivos e segurança do paciente. Os resultados demonstraram que os alunos apresentam conhecimento satisfatório sobre conceitos básicos de comunicação, reconhecimento de comportamentos disruptivos e importância do Checklist de Cirurgia Segura. Entretanto, foram identificadas dificuldades na aplicação prática da comunicação assertiva em situações que envolvem hierarquia profissional, intervenção diante de inconformidades e compreensão dos aspectos organizacionais relacionados à cultura de segurança. Conclui-se que a formação acadêmica e as experiências práticas contribuem para o desenvolvimento dessas competências, sendo necessária a implementação de estratégias educacionais contínuas que fortaleçam a comunicação assertiva, o trabalho em equipe e a cultura de segurança no ambiente cirúrgico.

Assertive communication constitutes an essential element for patient safety in the surgical environment, as it favors the effective exchange of information among health professionals and contributes to the prevention of adverse events. This study aimed to identify the knowledge of Nursing Technician students about assertive communication, disruptive behaviors, adherence to the Safe Surgery Checklist and patient safety in the Surgical Center. This is an exploratory research, with a quantitative-qualitative approach, based on the hypothetical-deductive method. A total of 102 students regularly enrolled in the four modules of the Nursing Technician course at a public educational institution in the interior of the state of São Paulo participated. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire composed of objective questions related to the axes of communication, disruptive behaviors and patient safety. The results showed that students have satisfactory knowledge about basic concepts of communication, recognition of disruptive behaviors and importance of the Safe Surgery Checklist. However, difficulties were identified in the practical application of assertive communication in situations involving professional hierarchy, intervention in the face of non-conformities and understanding of organizational aspects related to safety culture. It is concluded that academic training and practical experiences contribute to the development of these competences, requiring the implementation of continuous educational strategies that strengthen assertive communication, teamwork and safety culture in the surgical environment.
