Nível de conhecimento sobre Doença de Alzheimer (DA) fase 1 dos técnicos de enfermagem

Abstract

Presume-se que os técnicos de enfermagem nem sempre compreendem plenamente as alterações cognitivas do envelhecimento, o que dificulta a identificação dos sinais iniciais da Doença de Alzheimer (DA), frequentemente confundidos com a senescência. Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar a percepção dos alunos do curso Técnico em Enfermagem da ETEC Rodrigues de Abreu quanto à diferenciação entre as alterações cognitivas patológicas da DA em fase inicial e as alterações do envelhecimento natural. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, com abordagem hipotético-dedutiva, realizada com uma população amostral de 92 alunos. Os resultados demonstraram que os participantes reconhecem adequadamente os casos mais evidentes de comprometimento cognitivo, porém apresentam dificuldades na identificação de quadros iniciais e sutis, que exigem maior domínio conceitual e raciocínio clínico. Conclui-se que é necessário fortalecer, durante a formação dos futuros técnicos de enfermagem, os conteúdos relacionados à avaliação cognitiva da pessoa idosa e aos critérios clínicos que diferenciam o envelhecimento normal das fases iniciais das síndromes demenciais.

It is presumed that nursing technicians do not always fully understand the cognitive changes of aging, which makes it difficult to identify the early signs of Alzheimer's disease (AD), often confused with senescence. This study aimed to identify the perception of students from the Nursing Technician course at ETEC Rodrigues de Abreu regarding the differentiation between pathological cognitive changes of AD in the early stage and changes of natural aging. This is an exploratory research, with a hypothetical-deductive approach, carried out with a sample population of 92 students. The results showed that participants adequately recognize the most evident cases of cognitive impairment, but have difficulties in identifying early and subtle conditions, which require greater conceptual mastery and clinical reasoning. It is concluded that it is necessary to strengthen, during the training of future nursing technicians, the contents related to cognitive assessment of the elderly and the clinical criteria that differentiate normal aging from the early stages of demential syndromes.
