RESUMO Os sistemas de arrefecimento veiculares são componentes cruciais no funcionamento de motores de combustão interna, sendo responsáveis por manter a temperatura ideal de operação e prevenir o superaquecimento, que pode levar a problemas mecânicos graves, este trabalho aborda os principais tipos de sistemas de arrefecimento, seus componentes, funcionamento e a importância da manutenção adequada onde o radiador é um componente central no sistema de arrefecimento a líquido, funcionando como um trocador de calor onde o fluido aquecido pelo motor é resfriado pelo ar que passa através de suas aletas a bomba d'água geralmente é acionada por correia ou eletricamente, assegura a circulação contínua do fluido pelo sistema, o termostato regula a temperatura do motor controlando o fluxo de fluido para o radiador, abrindo ou fechando conforme necessário para manter a temperatura ideal de operação. A ventoinha por sua vez, auxilia na dissipação de calor, especialmente em situações de tráfego lento ou quando o veículo está parado, em conclusão, os sistemas de arrefecimento veiculares desempenham um papel vital na operação segura e eficiente dos motores de combustão interna, a compreensão dos seus componentes, funcionamento e a importância da manutenção preventiva são fundamentais para qualquer profissional ou entusiasta da área automotiva.
