Abstract

O Brasil é conhecido por possuir o maior rebanho bovino comercial do planeta e por ser o líder global na exportação de carne, com destaque na pecuária de corte. Este estudo visa examinar o bem-estar dos bovinos durante todas as etapas, desde o transporte até o abate, enfatizando as práticas humanitárias indispensáveis para reduzir o estresse e o sofrimento animal. A análise foi conduzida através de uma revisão bibliográfica, com base em materiais de diversos autores. Os resultados indicam que tanto o transporte quanto o abate dos bovinos no Brasil requerem atenção cuidadosa para assegurar práticas que favoreçam o bem-estar animal, minimizando o estresse e a dor. A adoção de procedimentos humanitários em todas as fases é crucial para aprimorar a qualidade do produto final e atender às demandas do mercado global, além de promover a sustentabilidade e a ética na produção pecuária.

Brazil is renowned for having the largest commercial cattle herd in the world and for being the global leader in beef exports, particularly in the beef cattle industry. This study aims to examine the welfare of cattle throughout all stages, from transportation to slaughter, emphasizing the essential humane practices needed to reduce animal stress and suffering. The analysis was conducted through a literature review, based on materials from various authors. The results indicate that both the transportation and slaughter of cattle in Brazil require careful attention to ensure practices that promote animal welfare, minimizing stress and pain. The adoption of humane procedures at every stage is crucial for improving the quality of the final product and meeting global market demands, as well as promoting sustainability and ethics in livestock production.
