The Northern Arc has consolidated itself as a strategic alternative to the traditional grain export routes concentrated in the Southern and Southeastern ports, accompanying the expansion of Brazilian agricultural production and the need for logistical diversification. This study analyzes the region’s infrastructure, considering port capacity, available transport modes and the main bottlenecks affecting its efficiency. The research is based on a literature review and data from institutions such as ANTAQ, CNT, IPEA, CONAB and CNA. The results indicate a significant increase in soybean and corn exports through the Northern Arc in recent years, driven by terminal modernization and greater private sector participation following the 2013 regulatory framework. Despite these advances, structural limitations persist, including poor road conditions, navigability restrictions in key waterways and insufficient rail connectivity. It is concluded that the consolidation of the Northern Arc depends on continuous investment and modal integration to ensure efficiency and competitiveness for the Brazilian agribusiness sector. |
