Pele de coco: consciência limpa

Abstract

Com a pandemia, os cuidados com a pele (skincare) têm ocupado um lugar cada vez mais importante na rotina dos consumidores. Essa prática vem do inglês, com a tradução literal de "cuidados com a pele", e é realizada por meio do uso de cosméticos. No entanto, alguns ingredientes nessas formulações podem agir como desreguladores endócrinos, e sua produção e descarte podem prejudicar o meio ambiente, afetando a população direta e indiretamente. Para enfrentar esse problema, surgiu a tendência Clean Beauty (Beleza Limpa), que busca produtos seguros, éticos e ambientalmente sustentáveis por meio de práticas transparentes, desde o início da fabricação até o fim do ciclo de vida dos cosméticos. Isso inclui o uso de ingredientes ecologicamente corretos, redução de resíduos, reciclagem, adoção de tecnologias mais limpas, redução do consumo de água e energia e a eliminação de testes em animais. Com isso em mente, as formulações orgânicas, naturais ou parcialmente orgânicas surgem como uma alternativa, pois apresentam menor impacto ambiental e oferecem maior segurança aos consumidores. Portanto, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo desenvolver produtos alinhados a esses princípios, utilizando principalmente o coco, um ingrediente que reduz a necessidade de conservantes e silicones pesados, ao mesmo tempo em que proporciona propriedades antioxidantes, regenerativas e hidratantes.

With the pandemic, skincare has taken up an increasingly important place in consumers' routines. This practice comes from English, with the literal translation "skin care," and is carried out through the use of cosmetics. However, some ingredients in these formulations may act as endocrine disruptors, and their production and disposal can harm the environment, thereby affecting the population both directly and indirectly. To address this issue, the Clean Beauty trend has emerged, seeking safe, ethical, and environmentally sustainable products through transparent practices, from the beginning of manufacturing to the end of the cosmetics' life cycle. This includes the use of eco-friendly ingredients, waste reduction, recycling, adoption of cleaner technologies, reduced water and energy consumption, and the elimination of animal testing. With this in mind, organic, natural, or partially organic formulations arise as an alternative, as they have a lower environmental impact and offer greater safety to consumers. Therefore, the present work aims to develop products aligned with these principles, mainly using coconut, an ingredient that reduces the need for preservatives and heavy silicones, while providing antioxidant, regenerative, and moisturizing properties.
