ABSTRACT This course completion work addresses issues related to crimes against honor, specifically examining data collected on offenses committed online and encompassing the difficulties and harmful effects associated with the internet.Among the findings of the research conducted, it was observed that the internet is increasingly being used for illicit purposes—a trend explained within the body of the study. The work also highlights numerous ways in which the internet has proven problematic; for instance, it identifies the most frequent types of crimes against honor in virtual settings—notably child exploitation, a source of national shame for Brazil, given that it ranks second globally in the number of victims of online offenses. It is also worth noting that the study addresses other infractions committed in the virtual realm, as detailed throughout the text.
