Lei Maria da Penha e suas medidas protetivas

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem por finalidade abordar o tema "violência doméstica" ou familiar contra a mulher. Durante o período de cinco anos da existência da lei n.11.340, de 07.08.2006, pretende-se mensurar os resultados obtidos com a aplicação da referida lei. A Lei Maria da Penha, além de inovar no conceito de família, também representa um marco na proteção da família e um resgate da cidadania feminina, na medida em que a mulher ficará a salvo do agressor e, assim, poderá denunciar as agressões sem temer que encontre com o agressor no dia seguinte e poderá sofrer consequências ainda piores. ABSTRACT This research aims to address the subject of domestic or family violence against women. It seeks to assess the results achieved through the application of Law No. 11.340 of August 7, 2006, over the five years since its enactment. Beyond introducing a new concept of the family, the Maria da Penha Law represents a milestone in family protection and a restoration of women's citizenship; it ensures women are safe from their abusers, thereby enabling them to report acts of violence without the fear of encountering the aggressor the following day and facing even worse consequences.
