TMS e sua importância

Abstract

A logística já está presente há anos no mundo empresarial podendo ser considerada uma das atividades econômicas mais antigas da humanidade e para isso vem se tornando cada vez mais competitiva e exigente, sendo assim, a busca por tecnologia nesse meio vem sendo cada vez maior. Dessa forma a implantação de um sistema de gestão de transportes conhecido como TMS (Transportation Management System), se faz necessário dentro das operações logística para obter melhorias no transporte e melhor controle operacional. O objetivo geral do trabalho é mostrar como funciona esse sistema, além da definição de logística, transporte e sistema de informação, por meio de uma pesquisa exploratória bibliográfica, baseada em artigos já publicados, que, nos traz informações relevantes sobre o TMS, podendo ser entendido como um sistema que irá trazer facilidade para os usuários. Conclui-se que o sistema de gestão de transporte é importante para maximizar resultados em uma empresa e minimizar custos.

Logistics has been present for years in the business world and can be considered one of the oldest economic activities of humanity and for this it has become increasingly competitive and demanding, so the search for technology in this environment has been increasing. Thus, the implementation of a transport management system known as TMS (Transportation Management System), it is necessary within logistics operations to obtain improvements in transportation and better operational control. The general objective of this work is to show how this system works, in addition to the definition of logistics, transportation and information system, through exploratory bibliographic research. Taking as results the understanding that the use of TMS provides the company with cost reduction and improvement of the level of customer service.
