With the increase of car fleets the demand for fuels will also tend to increase. An alternative to fossil fuels which is increasingly attracting investment is the second generation ethanol, a biofuel produced from straw and sugarcane bagasse, noble lignocellulosic raw material resulting from ethanol production process already used for energy production, but which nevertheless generates large surpluses. This is a sustainable option for increasing biofuel production optimizing existing plantation areas, with little investment in infrastructure, but its technology is in the beginning when compared to the production technology of conventional ethanol. |
