With the idea of showing the economic and environmental benefits obtained from reverse logistics, it will be seen that recycling is one of the most important factors, as through it it is possible to transform solid waste back into raw material. Since PET bottles are a product that degrades slowly, reusing them is the best way to save on production costs, but it also makes creating reverse logistics difficult because it is a product that pollutes the environment the most. For this reason, selective collection and the 3Rs become essential in reverse logistics. With the case study, we will see what people know about reverse logistics, recycling, waste separation, the importance of waste pickers, and whether there is a proper place to dispose of PET bottles.
