Ecoturismo e possibilidades no município de Rancharia/SP

Abstract

Entre as modalidades de turismo consideradas ecológicas encontra-se o ecoturismo, que compreende as práticas com foco no uso sustentável do patrimônio natural e cultural, incentivando a sua conservação por meio de ações de educação ambiental e o envolvimento das comunidades locais. Com a pandemia do novo coronavírus, estudos sobre o planejamento turístico no Brasil têm sido propostos, a fim de compreender cenários para o setor no pós-Covid-19. Entre as hipóteses defendidas tem-se a valorização, pelos brasileiros, das viagens domésticas e com preferência aos destinos mais sustentáveis, como os de ecoturismo. Sendo assim, o objetivo geral neste artigo é analisar as potencialidades e o desafios relacionados ao desenvolvimento do ecoturismo na cidade de Rancharia, situada a oeste no estado de São Paulo. O munícipio integra a Macrorregião Turística Oeste Paulista, mais especificamente a região sul do oeste, que apresenta potencialidades relacionadas aos atrativos de natureza. Enquanto metodologia de pesquisa, optou-se pelo estudo de caso, a fim de obter informações sobre como o ecoturismo pode ser uma alternativa ao desenvolvimento socioeconômico na cidade. Foram realizados estudos teóricos com foco no tema do ecoturismo, planejamento turístico e sustentabilidade turística, destacando-se suas características, particularidades e conceitos importantes, que puderam ser articulados às informações obtidas durante entrevista semiestruturada com a chefe do departamento de turismo da cidade. Os resultados indicam que, mesmo sendo uma cidade de pequeno porte, Rancharia tem potencial para o turismo ecológico. Em 2017, ao conquistar o título de Município de Interesse Turístico (MIT), passou a receber verba anual para investimentos em infraestrutura turística, bem como recursos do Fundo de Melhorias dos Municípios Turísticos, que são disponibilizados por meio da aprovação de projetos para o setor. O município dispõe de atrativos que movimentam a demanda local, sendo o mais importante o Balneário Municipal. Além disso, é preciso destacar a presença de cachoeiras, corredeiras, rios e lagos, especialmente no entorno rural. Por outro lado, o principal desafio é a abertura desses locais à visitação pública, uma vez que estão situados em propriedades privadas e ao mesmo tempo, carecem de investimentos em infraestrutura para acesso e permanência das pessoas nos locais visitados. Acredita-se que o potencial da cidade pode ser aproveitado para o ecoturismo com a estruturação de um circuito turístico com ênfase no ecoturismo, possibilitando diferentes práticas e atividades de lazer. Para isso, é importante a atuação conjugada dos atores turísticos na cidade, para que haja o pleno desenvolvimento da prática respeitando-se as necessidades da demanda, da comunidade e do segmento ecoturístico.

Among the types of tourism considered ecological is ecotourism, which comprises practices focused on the sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage, encouraging its conservation through environmental education actions and the involvement of local communities. With the pandemic of the new coronavirus, studies on tourism planning in Brazil have been proposed to understand scenarios for the sector in the post-Covid-19. Among the hypotheses defended is the appreciation, by Brazilians, of domestic travel and preference for more sustainable destinations, such as ecotourism. Therefore, the general objective of this article is to analyze the potential and challenges related to the development of ecotourism in the city of Rancharia, located in the west of the state of São Paulo. The municipality is part of the West Paulista Tourist Macro-region, more specifically the southwest region, which has potential related to nature attractions. As a research methodology, a case study was chosen to obtain information on how ecotourism can be an alternative to socioeconomic development in the city. Theoretical studies were conducted focusing on the theme of ecotourism, tourism planning and tourism sustainability, highlighting its characteristics, particularities, and important concepts, which could be articulated with the information obtained during a semi-structured interview with the head of the city's tourism department. The results indicate that, even being a small town, Rancharia has potential for ecological tourism. In 2017, upon winning the title of Municipality of Tourist Interest (MIT), it started to receive annual funds for investments in tourist infrastructure, as well as resources from the Fund for the Improvement of Tourist Municipalities, which are made available through the approval of projects for the sector. . The municipality has attractions that drive local demand, the most important being the Municipal Bathhouse. In addition, it is necessary to highlight the presence of waterfalls, rapids, rivers, and lakes, especially in rural surroundings. On the other hand, the main challenge is to open these places to public visitation, since they are located on private properties and, at the same time, lack infrastructure investments for access and permanence of people in the visited places. It is believed that the city's potential can be harnessed for ecotourism with the structuring of a tourist circuit with an emphasis on ecotourism, enabling different practices and leisure activities. For this, it is important the joint action of the tourist actors in the city, so that there is the full development of the practice, respecting the needs of the demand, the community, and the ecotourism segment.
