Corpus Christi: a retomada dos eventos religiosos pós-pandemia Covid-19

Abstract

Corpus Christi é uma expressão em latim que significa o “Corpo de Cristo”. Esse evento tão celebrado pela Igreja Católica em todo o mundo, representa a Celebração do Santíssimo Sacramento nas ruas, onde os fiéis adoram o Corpo de Cristo Eucarístico de maneira pública, demonstrando a todos o seu amor e fé a Jesus, evangelizando dessa maneira. A comemoração de Corpus Christi não é considerada feriado nacional, e sim ponto facultativo, ficando a critério dos municípios decretarem feriado ou não. Na cidade de Presidente Prudente-São Paulo a festividade é declarada ponto facultativo e a data dessa celebração não é fixa no calendário civil, ela é móvel. O dia de Corpus Christi é comemorado 60 dias após o Domingo de Páscoa ou na quinta-feira seguinte ao domingo da Santíssima Trindade. Essa celebração é marcada por missa e procissão, na qual normalmente é conduzida pelo Bispo em sua sede de Diocese ou pároco da Igreja nas demais cidades da Diocese. O objetivo geral deste trabalho é analisar as repercussões que a pandemia de Covid-19 causou à festividade de devoção ao Santíssimo Sacramento, Corpus Christi, a partir da festa realizada na Diocese de Presidente Prudente-São Paulo, em 16 de junho de 2022. A metodologia usada foram as revisões bibliográficas e documentais, observação sistemática no dia do evento e entrevista com representante da igreja católica. Os resultados mostram que muitas paróquias participaram de forma ativa na retomada da festividade e outras não. Acredita-se que seja devido aos danos causados a todos pela contaminação da Covid-19, gerando insegurança com a situação. Durante os anos de 2020 e 2021 a população de fiéis ficou sem a celebração de costume, como a procissão e a missa campal. E neste ano de 2022 retornou de forma presencial a celebração. Mudanças foram observadas e, embora a devoção ao Santíssimo Sacramento, ato esse vivido pela comunidade católica, tenha permanecido, a retomada do evento religioso mesmo que em local aberto, está sendo de forma gradual, até mesmo

Corpus Christi is a Latin expression that means the "Body of Christ". This event so celebrated by the Catholic Church around the world, represents the Celebration of the Blessed Sacrament in the streets, where the faithful adore the Eucharistic Body of Christ in a public way, demonstrating to everyone their love and faith to Jesus, evangelizing in this way. The celebration of Corpus Christi is not considered a national holiday, being an optional point, being at the discretion of the municipalities to declare a holiday or not. In the city of Presidente Prudente-São Paulo the festivity is declared a holiday and the date of this celebration is not fixed in the civil calendar, it is movable. Corpus Christi Day is celebrated 60 days after Easter Sunday or on the Thursday following Holy Trinity Sunday. This celebration is marked by mass and procession, which is usually conducted by the Bishop at his Diocese headquarters or the parish priest of the Church in the other cities of the Diocese. The general objective of this work is to analyze the repercussions that the Covid-19 pandemic caused to the festivity of devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, Corpus Christi, from the party held in the Diocese of Presidente Prudente-São Paulo, on June 16, 2022. The methodology used was bibliographic and document reviews, systematic observation on the day of the event and an interview with a representative of the Catholic Church. The results show that many parishes actively participated in the resumption of the festivity and others did not. It is believed to be due to the damage caused to everyone by the contamination of Covid-19, generating insecurity with the situation. During the years 2020 and 2021, the population of the faithful was left without the usual celebration, such as the procession and the open-air mass. And in this year 2022, the celebration returned in person. Changes were observed and although the devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, an act lived by the Catholic community, has remained, the resumption of the religious event, even if in an open place, is being gradually, even the most fervent faithful still feel afraid in return to their religious practices.
