Museu Republicano de Itu: patrimônio histórico e turismo

Abstract

A pesquisa abordou a criação do Museu Republicano de Itu e sua transformação em um marco na história do Brasil Republicano. No contexto da passagem da Monarquia para uma República, no final do século XIX, foi abordada a transformação do Casarão que sediou a “Convenção de Itu” em lugar da memória para as elites paulistas, no início do século XX. Trata-se de um estudo de Museologia, que visou analisar em profundidade a criação, a organização do acervo e gestão de um museu. A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar o papel do Museu Republicano de Itu para a construção de determinadas representações sobre a história e sobre o papel da cidade de Itu na história do Brasil.

The research covered the creation of the Itu Republican Museum and its transformation into a landmark in the history of Brazil Republican. In the context of the passage from the Monarchy to a Republic, at the end of the nineteenth century, the transformation of the house that hosted the "Itu Convention" was approached instead of memory for the São Paulo elites in the early 20th century. It is a study of Museology, which aimed to analyze in depth the creation, organization of the collection and management of a museum. The research aimed to analyze the role of the Itu Republican Museum for the construction of certain representations about the history and the role of the city of Itu in the history of Brazil.
