Papa-pilhas: implantação de pontos de coleta e conscientização ambiental sobre o descarte de pilhas e baterias da ETEC Coronel Raphael Brandão

Abstract

O descarte inadequado de pilhas e baterias representa uma ameaça significativa ao meio ambiente e à saúde pública devido à presença de metais pesados e substâncias tóxicas em sua composição. Com base na Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS), que estabelece a responsabilidade compartilhada pelo ciclo de vida dos produtos, este trabalho apresenta a implantação do projeto Papa-Pilhas na Etec Coronel Raphael Brandão, com o objetivo de promover o descarte correto desses resíduos e reforçar a educação ambiental na comunidade escolar. O projeto consistiu na construção de três coletores utilizando materiais simples e acessíveis, instalados em locais estratégicos para facilitar o acesso dos usuários. Além disso, foram realizadas ações de conscientização para estimular o engajamento dos estudantes e colaboradores. Os resultados demonstraram aumento da participação da comunidade escolar e maior compreensão sobre os impactos ambientais causados pelo descarte inadequado. Conclui se que iniciativas como o Papa-Pilhas contribuem efetivamente para a gestão sustentável de resíduos e para o fortalecimento de práticas ecológicas no ambiente educacional.

The improper disposal of batteries and accumulators represents a significant threat to the environment and public health due to the presence of heavy metals and toxic substances in their composition. Based on the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), which establishes shared responsibility for the life cycle of products, this work presents the implementation of the "Papa-Pilhas" (Battery Recycling) project at Etec Coronel Raphael Brandão, with the objective of promoting the correct disposal of these wastes and reinforcing environmental education in the school community.

The project consisted of the construction of three collection points using simple and accessible materials, installed in strategic locations to facilitate user access. In addition, awareness-raising actions were carried out to encourage the engagement of students and staff. The results demonstrated increased participation from the school community and greater understanding of the environmental impacts caused by improper disposal. It is concluded that initiatives such as Papa-Pilhas effectively contribute to the sustainable management of waste and to the strengthening of ecological practices in the educational environment.
