Coleta seletiva de lixo: como melhorar a eficiência da coleta seletiva em Santa Rosa de Viterbo: estratégias logísticas

Abstract

O presente estudo analisou a coleta seletiva de resíduos sólidos no município de Santa Rosa de Viterbo, com o objetivo de identificar suas fragilidades e propor estratégias de melhoria por meio da integração entre logística e educação ambiental. A fundamentação teórica abordou conceitos de sustentabilidade, logística reversa e economia circular, ressaltando sua contribuição para os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), especialmente aqueles relacionados a cidades sustentáveis, consumo responsável e ação contra as mudanças climáticas. A pesquisa de campo, realizada com 65 estudantes do Ensino Médio da Escola Técnica Estadual (Etec), revelou baixo nível de conhecimento sobre coleta seletiva (apenas 24,62% afirmaram compreender plenamente o conceito) e adesão parcial às práticas de separação de resíduos. Verificou-se também desconhecimento sobre os dias de coleta (58,46%), invisibilidade das cooperativas locais (60%) e reduzida participação em campanhas educativas (44,62% nunca tiveram contato com ações do tipo). Tais resultados evidenciam não apenas deficiências estruturais, como sobreposição de rotas e ociosidade em regiões específicas, mas também barreiras culturais e comportamentais que comprometem a eficácia do sistema. Com base nesses achados, o estudo propõe uma intervenção integrada em três eixos: fortalecimento da educação ambiental contínua, reestruturação logística com uso de tecnologias e estímulo à participação social por meio de incentivos e ampliação da infraestrutura. Conclui-se que apenas a articulação entre poder público, iniciativa privada e comunidade poderá consolidar um modelo de coleta seletiva eficiente e sustentável, alinhado aos compromissos globais da Agenda 2030.

This study analyzed the selective collection of solid waste in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Viterbo, with the aim of identifying its weaknesses and proposing improvement strategies through the integration of logistics and environmental education. The theoretical framework addressed concepts of sustainability, reverse logistics, and circular economy, highlighting their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and climate action. The field research, conducted with 65 high school students from the State Technical School (Etec), revealed a low level of knowledge about selective collection (only 24.62% claimed to fully understand the concept) and partial adherence to waste separation practices. Lack of knowledge about collection days (58.46%), invisibility of local cooperatives (60%), and reduced participation in educational campaigns (44.62% had never been in contact with such actions) were also observed. These results not only highlight structural deficiencies, such as overlapping routes and idle capacity in specific regions, but also cultural and behavioral barriers that compromise the system's effectiveness.Based on these findings, the study proposes an integrated intervention across three axes: strengthening continuous environmental education, logistical restructuring with the use of technology, and stimulating social participation through incentives and infrastructure expansion. It concludes that only the collaboration between the public sector, private initiative, and the community can consolidate an efficient and sustainable model of selective collection, aligned with the global commitments of the 2030 Agenda.
