Educação ambiental e educação básica no plantio de cana-de-açúcar

Abstract

Este trabalho teve como objetivo discutir a importância da educação ambiental no contexto da educação básica voltada ao plantio da cana-de-açúcar. O estudo destaca como a integração entre práticas pedagógicas e técnicas agrícolas sustentáveis pode promover maior consciência ambiental entre os alunos do ensino fundamental (5º ano) da escola municipal João Alves de Paiva – Planura/MG. Para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foi confeccionado uma maquete para representar o sistema de plantio de cana-de-açúcar e apresentar para os alunos do 5º ano como forma de aprendizado sobre as vantagens e desvantagens desse tipo de plantio para o meio ambiente e a sociedade. Após a apresentação, concluímos o conhecimento dos alunos sobre o tema não tem aprofundamentos técnicos, sendo apenas conhecimento básico pela convivência de familiares que trabalham na zona rural e/ou na usina comentam com eles algumas coisas do processo do plantio e colheita da cana. Portanto, a união entre conhecimento técnico e educação ambiental é essencial para conscientizar desde a infância sobre a importância da agricultura sustentável e produtiva para a vida de todos. This work aimed to discuss the importance of environmental education in the context of basic education focused on sugarcane planting. The study highlights how the integration between pedagogical practices and sustainable agricultural techniques can promote greater environmental awareness among elementary school students (5th grade) at the João Alves de Paiva Municipal School – Planura/MG. To develop the work, a model was created to represent the sugarcane planting system and presented to the 5th-grade students as a way to learn about the advantages and disadvantages of this type of planting for the environment and society. After the presentation, we concluded that the students' knowledge of the subject lacked technical depth, being only basic knowledge gained from family members who work in rural areas and/or at the sugar mill, who discussed some aspects of the sugarcane planting and harvesting process with them. Therefore, the union between technical knowledge and environmental education is essential to raise awareness from childhood about the importance of sustainable and productive agriculture for everyone's lives.
