Gestão do terceiro setor e sua manutenção financeira: desafios e caminhos para a autossuficiência

Abstract

O presente artigo teve como objetivo principal pesquisar as principais práticas de planejamento financeiro adotadas por organizações do terceiro setor, abordando os desafios enfrentados e as estratégias utilizadas para promover a saúde financeira e garantir a continuidade das ações. A metodologia foi construída a partir de uma abordagem fundamentada em estudos acadêmicos e em uma visão construtiva sobre o papel de duas entidades na sociedade. Por meio de uma entrevista semiestruturada, foi possível observar que, embora as ONGs possuam estruturas organizacionais bem definidas e adotem práticas de transparência em sua atuação, ainda enfrentam diversos desafios em sua sustentabilidade financeira e operacional. Entre os principais obstáculos identificados estão a instabilidade nas fontes de financiamento, a complexidade dos processos burocráticos e a alta rotatividade de voluntários, fatores que impactam diretamente na continuidade e na eficácia dos projetos desenvolvidos. Apesar dessas dificuldades, a análise permitiu concluir que uma gestão financeira eficiente, quando devidamente alinhada à missão institucional da organização, contribui significativamente para a obtenção de resultados sociais positivos e duradouros, fortalecendo o impacto das ações desenvolvidas pelas ONGs junto às comunidades atendidas. The main objective of the present article was to investigate the main financial planning practices adopted by third sector organizations, addressing the challenges faced and the strategies employed to promote financial health and ensure the continuity of their activities. The methodology was developed based on an approach grounded in academic studies and a constructive perspective on the role of two entities within society. Through a semi-structured interview, it was observed that, although NGOs possess well-defined organizational structures and adopt transparency practices in their operations, they still face several challenges related to financial and operational sustainability. Among the main obstacles identified are the instability of funding sources, the complexity of bureaucratic processes, and the high turnover of volunteers—factors that directly impact the continuity and effectiveness of the projects carried out. Despite these difficulties, the analysis allowed for the conclusion that efficient financial management, when properly aligned with the organization’s institutional mission, significantly contributes to the achievement of positive and lasting social outcomes, thereby strengthening the impact of the actions undertaken by NGOs within the communities they serve.
