Modal de transporte: a utilização do modal ferroviário como alternativa eficaz para o escoamento na produção brasileira

Abstract

Durante a Revolução Industrial, o desenvolvimento do transporte férreo, juntamente com o descobrimento das locomotivas a vapor, foi um acontecimento de extrema importância para todo o mundo, mas especialmente significativo para a Inglaterra do século XIX, localizada no continente Europeu, e essa evolução tecnológica foi crucial tanto para o desenvolvimento econômico quanto social de diversos povos e nações. Logo, desempenhando um papel importante no crescimento econômico e na evolução dos meios de transporte, a criação da locomotiva a vapor levou à construção dos trilhos ferroviários por todo o planeta e, aqui, no Brasil, essa inovação foi fomentada pelos interesses do empresário Irineu Evangelista de Souza, o Barão de Mauá, e também tal iniciativa teve apoio de Dom Pedro II, visando que, em solo brasileiro, a locomoção de produtos agrícolas fosse otimizada, diminuindo o tempo de deslocamento entre os principais estados do país. Este trabalho irá abordar as transformações ocorridas nos últimos tempos, além de comparar a malha ferroviária brasileira com a de outros países. A intenção deste estudo é caracterizar nossa malha ferroviária, entender seu funcionamento e apontar caminhos para os problemas detectados. Palavras-chave: Ferrovia. Brasil. Transformação.

During the Industrial Revolution, the development of rail transport, along with the discovery of steam locomotives, was an extremely important event for the entire world, but especially significant for 19th-century England, located on the European continent. This technological evolution was crucial for both the economic and social development of various peoples and nations. Thus, playing a significant role in economic growth and the evolution of transportation, the creation of the steam locomotive led to the construction of railway tracks across the globe. Here in Brazil, this innovation was driven by the interests of entrepreneur Irineu Evangelista de Souza, the Baron of Mauá, and also received support from Dom Pedro II. Their aim was to optimize the transportation of agricultural products within Brazilian territory, reducing the travel time between the country's main states. This work will address the transformations that have occurred in recent times, as well as comparing the Brazilian railway network with that of other countries. The aim of this study is to characterize our railway network, understand its operation, and suggest solutions for the identified issues. Keywords: Railway. Brazil. Transformation.
