Logística reversa: o reaproveitamento do óleo de cozinha usado para a produção de biodiesel em Mogi Mirim e Mogi Guaçu

Abstract

logística reversa do óleo residual de cozinha usado representa uma alternativa sustentável para o reaproveitamento desse resíduo. Este trabalho enfatiza sua conversão em biodiesel, analisa o processo de coleta e destinação do óleo, destaca os benefícios ambientais e sociais, além de evidenciar os principais desafios para a implementação das práticas da logística reversa. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica, em conjunto com um estudo de caso com a cooperativa “Copper 3 R´s” e uma visita técnica no Instituto de Tecnologia de Mauá. Os resultados mostram que a reutilização do óleo contribui para a redução da poluição, a geração de energia limpa e o fortalecimento da economia circular. No entanto, a concorrência desleal de microempresários e o baixo volume coletado limitam a efetividade dessas práticas. Assim, a implementação eficiente da logística reversa do óleo de cozinha usado exige maior visibilidade sobre questões de sustentabilidade, apoio institucional e conscientização da população sobre sua importância ambiental.

ABSTRACT: The reverse logistics of used residual cooking oil represents a sustainable alternative for the reuse of this waste. This work emphasizes its conversion into biodiesel, analyzes the process of collecting and disposing of the oil, highlights the environmental and social benefits, and highlights the main challenges for the implementation of reverse logistics practices. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out, together with a case study the cooperative "Copper 3 R's" and a technical visit to the Mauá Institute of Technology. The results show that the reuse of oil contributes to the reduction of pollution, the generation of clean energy and the strengthening of the circular economy. However, the unfair competition of microentrepreneurs and the low volume collected limit the effectiveness of these practices. Thus, the efficient implementation of reverse logistics for used cooking oil requires greater visibility on sustainability issues, institutional support, and public awareness of its environmental importance.
