A look at burnout syndrome in the business environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the quality of life at work and the role of organizational psychologists who work to understand and improve the functioning of organizations, aiming at the well-being of employees and healthy environments. It focuses on the presenceof Burnout Syndrome, an emotional disorder caused by overwork, which generates physical and emotional exhaustion. This scenario can result in a heavy organizational environment, with demotivation and disconnection of employees. Thus, the present study presents as a problematization the respective question: How does Burnout syndrome occur and what are the main motivational factors for this occurrence? In the search for answers to this problem, this work has as its general objective to demonstrate the presence of Burnout syndrome and its consequences in the business environment, the methodological procedure undertaken in the research is based on secondary data from bibliographic and electronic research, in order to understand how Burnout Syndrome occurs and what are the main motivational factors for this occurrence. It also addresses stress, differentiating it into "stress" (good) and "eustress" (bad), explaining how adequate levels can boost creativity, while in excesses it has negative impacts, characterizing "eustress". Finally, the text proposes a discussion about the object of study to seek answers to the problematization and achieve the objectives established in the research.

Esse estudo investiga a qualidade de vida no trabalho e o papel dos psicólogos organizacionais que trabalham para compreender e melhorar o funcionamento das organizações, visando o bem-estar dos funcionários e ambientes saudáveis. Foca na presença da Síndrome de Burnout, um distúrbio emocional causado pelo excesso de trabalho, que gera exaustão física e emocional. Esse cenário pode resultar em um ambiente organizacional pesado, com desmotivação e desconexão dos cola-boradores. Assim, o presente estudo apresenta como problematização o respectivo questionamen-to: Como ocorre a síndrome de Burnout e quais são os principais fatores motivacionais para essa ocorrência? Na busca de respostas diante dessa problematização, esse trabalho tem como objetivo geral demonstrar a presença da síndrome de Burnout e seus desdobramentos no ambiente empre-sarial, o procedimento metodológico empreendido na pesquisa fundamenta-se em dados secundá-rios de pesquisas bibliográficas e eletrônicas, com o intuito de compreender como ocorre a Sín-drome de Burnout e quais são os principais fatores motivacionais para essa ocorrência. Aborda também o estresse, diferenciando-o em “estresse” (bom) e “eustresse” (ruim), explicando como níveis adequados podem impulsionar a criatividade, enquanto em excessos tem impactos negati-vos, caracterizando o “ eustresse”. Por fim, o texto propõe uma discussão sobre o objeto de estudo para buscar respostas à problematização e atingir os objetivos estabelecidos na pesquisa
