Um estudo sobre as nascentes dos córregos Cerradinho e Jaboticabal

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar por meio de imagens do Google Earth Pro, a situação atual das nascentes dos Córregos Cerradinho e Jaboticabal que cortam a área urbana do município de Jaboticabal-SP. Por estarem localizadas em propriedades particulares a observação in loco é inviável. Observou-se que não houve evolução na conservação das nascentes em nenhum dos dois córregos. Foi possível verificar que desde 2010 são mantidas apenas o mínimo de vegetação no entorno das nascentes. Através das imagens, observa-se que as pequenas áreas das nascentes são ilhadas em áreas agrícolas, mantendo-se apenas o mínimo exigido por lei. Como o curso dos dois córregos encontra-se quase totalmente em área urbana, também não há mata ciliar. Esse estudo foi relevante por servir de alerta e pode ajudar a conscientizar a população da importância da preservação das nascentes e da manutenção dos córregos do município.

The objective of this work was to verify, through Google Earth Pro images, the current situation of the sources of the cerradinho and Jaboticabal streams that cross the urban area of the municipality of Jaboticabal-SP. As they are located on private properties, observation in loco is not feasible. It was observed that there was no evolution in the conservation of the springs in either of the two streams. It was possible to verify that since 2010 only a minimum of vegetation has been maintained around the springs. Through the images, it is observed that the small areas of the springs are isolated in agricultural areas, keeping only the minimum required by law. As the course of the two streams is almost entirely in an urban area, there is also no riparian forest. This study was relevant as it serves as a warning and can help raise awareness of the importance of preserving the springs and maintaining the streams in the municipality.
