Retrofit no Museu Major Novaes de Cruzeiro-SP: sustentabilidade e preservação do patrimônio histórico

Abstract

Em uma área tão ampla como a construção civil, é possível identificar diversas ferramentas e estratégias que contribuem significativamente para a valorização dos espaços urbanos, tanto do ponto de vista técnico quanto cultural. Em um país que, apesar de enfrentar desafios, carrega um patrimônio histórico riquíssimo, torna-se essencial buscar soluções que preservem a identidade das construções, ao mesmo tempo em que as tornam funcionais para a sociedade atual. Este trabalho tem como foco a proposta de retrofit do Museu Histórico Major Novaes, localizado no município de Cruzeiro-SP. A edificação, com forte valor simbólico e arquitetônico, apresenta atualmente limitações estruturais e funcionais que comprometem seu uso pleno como espaço cultural. Através da metodologia do retrofit, busca-se requalificar o museu sem apagar sua essência histórica, promovendo melhorias em acessibilidade, segurança, infraestrutura e uso sociocultural. Mais do que uma proposta técnica, este projeto reflete o compromisso com a preservação da memória, a valorização do patrimônio e o fortalecimento da relação entre arquitetura, cultura e comunidade. Trata-se de uma contribuição significativa para o campo da construção civil e para os profissionais que, por meio do conhecimento e da sensibilidade, fazem a diferença na transformação de espaços e na promoção da dignidade social.

In an area as broad as civil construction, it is possible to identify various tools and strategies that significantly contribute to the enhancement of urban spaces, both from a technical and cultural perspective. In a country that, despite facing challenges, carries a rich historical heritage, it becomes essential to seek solutions that preserve the identity of the buildings while making them functional for today's society. This work focuses on the proposal for the retrofit of the Major Novaes Historical Museum, located in the municipality of Cruzeiro-SP. The building, with strong symbolic and architectural value, currently presents structural and functional limitations that compromise its full use as a cultural space. Through the retrofit methodology, the aim is to requalify the museum without erasing its historical essence, promoting improvements in accessibility, safety, infrastructure, and sociocultural use. More than a technical proposal, this project reflects a commitment to the preservation of memory, the appreciation of heritage, and the strengthening of the relationship between architecture, culture, and community. It is a significant contribution to the field of civil construction and to the professionals who, through knowledge and sensitivity, make a difference in the transformation of spaces and the promotion of social dignity
