A inclusão do deficiente intelectual no mercado de trabalho do Brasil: Síndrome de down e autismo

Abstract

A realidade vivida por portadores de deficiência intelectual tem se tornado foco de discussões e estudos, principalmente no contexto referente à sua inclusão no mercado de trabalho e integração social. Apesar da capacidade e do interesse pelo trabalho, as pessoas com deficiência têm empregos significativamente mais baixos do que as pessoas sem deficiência. As leis se mostram a favor de mudanças nesse âmbito, mas o que vemos realmente na prática ainda está bem distante de ser um panorama ideal e de igualdade nas oportunidades de inserção. O presente estudo tem o foco em mostrar a perspectiva das pessoas com deficiência intelectual em relação ao mercado de trabalho e demonstrar os desafios e preconceitos enfrentados. Para explorar essas questões, a pesquisa foi alicerçada no método qualitativo, que teve como instrumento definidor a entrevista semiestruturada. Verificou-se nos relatos obtidos que os deficientes intelectuais estudados se mostram aparentemente dentro do panorama verificado na literatura sobre pessoas portadoras de deficiência, o primeiro adulto com deficiência intelectual que atualmente não se encontra inserido no mercado de trabalho e é totalmente economicamente dependente dos pais. Já o segundo adulto, trabalha, mas já encontrou muitas dificuldades e preconceito ao decorrer de sua trajetória. Assim, o referido estudo possibilitou conhecer sobre a história da deficiência, as dificuldades e conquistas das pessoas com deficiência intelectual, possibilitou ainda perceber a importância da inclusão da pessoa com deficiência intelectual no mercado de trabalho.

The reality experienced by people with disabilities has become the focus of studies and discussions, especially with regard to their inclusion and social integration. Despite the ability to and interest in work, people with disabilities are employed at significantly lower rates than nondisabled people. The laws are in favor of changes, however what we see in practice is still far from being an ideal panorama and a real equal opportunity for insertion. This study focuses on showing the perspective of people with intellectual disabilities in relation to the labor market and demonstrating the challenges and prejudices faced. To explore these issues, the research was based on the qualitative method, which had the semi-structured interview as a defining instrument. It was verified in the obtained reports that the intellectually disabled people studied appear to be within the panorama verified in the literature on people with disabilities, the first adult with intellectual disabilities is not included in the labor market and is totally dependent economically on their parents. The second adult, on the other hand, works, but has already encountered many difficulties and prejudice throughout his trajectory. Thus, the aforementioned study made it possible to know about the history of disability, the difficulties and achievements of people with intellectual disabilities, also made it possible to realize the importance of including people with intellectual disabilities in the labor market.
