Do tear a maior montadora do mundo, pontos chaves

Abstract

Este trabalho descritivo foi fundamentado em uma ampla revisão bibliográfica que teve a finalidade de demonstrar como uma empresa que produzia teares no início do século 20 se tornou a Toyota Motor Company, se adaptando para se tornar uma das maiores montadoras de automóveis do mundo. Será feito uma contextualização histórica relatando os acontecimentos que levaram a essa mudança de paradigma, tendo como foco maior o antes e depois da segunda guerra mundial; foram os momentos que ocorreram as maiores mudanças na organização, passando pela vida de seus fundadores e suas principais tomadas de decisões da mudança do tear para o automóvel e como isso decorreu na empresa. Será apresentado quais as vantagens da metodologia de produção criada pela Toyota que seria conhecida mundialmente como Sistema Toyota de Produção e abordara alguns de seus princípios que foram criados pela mesma para suprir suas necessidades em alguns períodos de sua história, que posteriormente foram agregadas ao seu modo de produzir aumentando ainda mais suas vantagens competitivas em relação a outros sistemas em determinadas áreas e alguns estudos de casos da implementação deste sistema em outras empresas. O trabalho mostra quais os resultados que o Sistema de Produção Toyota (STP) causou a organização e em qual lugar ficou no mercado mundial no ano de 2017, para afirmar como os métodos criados pela Toyota a transformaram, fazendo ela crescer exponencialmente desde o final da segunda guerra mundial.

This descriptive work was based on a large bibliographical review aimed at demonstrating how a company that produced looms in the early twentieth century became the Toyota Motor Company, adapting to become one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. A historical contextualization will be made, reporting the events that led to this paradigm shift, with a greater focus on the before and after the Second World War; were the moments that occurred the biggest changes in the organization, passing through the life of its founders and their main decision-making from the change of the loom to the automobile and how it happened in the company. It will be presented the advantages of the production methodology created by Toyota that would be known worldwide as Toyota Production System and will address some of its principles that were created by it to meet their needs in some periods of its history that were later added to its mode of producing further increasing its competitive advantages over other systems in certain areas and some case studies of the implementation of this system in other companies. The work shows what the STP caused the organization and where it stood on the world market in 2017, to state how the methods created by Toyota have transformed it, making it grow exponentially since the end of World War II.
