Turismo cultural: roteiro “caminho do artesanato caiçara” na costa sul de São Sebastião para diversificar a motivação turística e valorizar o artesão local.

Abstract

O trabalho de pesquisa tem como proposito mostrar que a destinação turística deve prezar por uma identidade própria, peculiar as características do lugar. A herança cultural é marcante na representatividade de lugares, pode ser representada pela culinária típica, ou seja, um prato tradicional, ou pode ser representada pela confecção de artesanato que simboliza a região turística. E nesse aspecto São Sebastião é um bom exemplo na preservação de produção de artesanato típico. A matéria-prima predominante é a cerâmica para fazer panelas de barro, a taboa que é utilizada no preparo de tapetes e chapéus e a caxeta que utilizada para confeccionar os passarinhos que fazem parte do cenário natural. Essa técnica é passada entre as gerações, porém, percebe-se que o interesse das futuras gerações pela continuidade de confeccionar o artesanato vem diminuindo, perdendo força, tornando-se preocupante. A identidade cultural que é tão importante para promover e simbolizar o destino vive sob ameaça. O provável desinteresse das futuras gerações deve-se a questões ambientais, onde extrair mesmo que de forma sustentável a matéria-prima está complicado. Perante a esse problema o turismo se apresenta como uma alternativa de resgate e fortalecimento da arte local.

The research work aims to show that tourist destinations should prioritize their own unique identity, peculiar to the characteristics of the place. Cultural heritage is a hallmark of representativeness of places and can be represented by typical cuisine, i.e., a traditional dish, or by the production of handicrafts that symbolize the tourist region. In this aspect, São Sebastião is a good example in preserving the production of typical handicrafts. The predominant raw material is ceramics for making clay pots, taboa used in preparing rugs and hats, and caxeta used to craft birds that are part of the natural scenery. This technique is passed down through generations; however, it is noticed that the interest of future generations in continuing to craft handicrafts is decreasing, losing strength, and becoming concerning. The cultural identity, so important for promoting and symbolizing the destination, is under threat. The likely disinterest of future generations is due to environmental issues, where extracting raw materials, even sustainably, is complicated. In the face of this problem, tourism presents itself as an alternative for rescuing and strengthening local art.
