Deficiências relacionadas à segurança no setor de gases medicinais em estabelecimento assistencial de saúde

Abstract

É denominado gás medicinal qualquer gás ou mistura de gases que é administrado a pacientes que necessitam de tratamento ou prevenção de doenças. Estes insumos podem ser criogênicos, liquefeitos ou comprimidos. Entre os principais gases medicinais utilizados em instituições hospitalares, estão o oxigênio medicinal, nitrogênio medicinal, ar medicinal e óxido nitroso. O setor de gases medicinais é responsável pelo armazenamento e distribuição desses insumos, porém possui grande complexidade devido às normas e legislações vigentes que devem ser seguidas a fim de se evitar riscos. Durante realização de estágio curricular obrigatório em Estabelecimento Assistencial de Saúde da cidade de Bauru, deficiências relacionadas à segurança no setor de gases medicinais foram constatadas. A pesquisa teve como objetivos a descrição dos principais gases medicinais utilizados no hospital, os tipos e formas de armazenamento, relatar o funcionamento do setor e identificar e apresentar normas, legislações vigentes e recomendações de fabricantes relacionadas à segurança com os gases. O Trabalho foi realizado através de revisão bibliográfica referente juntamente com uma pesquisa de observação em que constam as medidas necessárias para o bom funcionamento do setor, observadas durante realização do estágio. Com a obtenção dos resultados, verificou-se que muitos aspectos de segurança não são seguidos, e que são poucos os profissionais da área da saúde que possuem um conhecimento do setor de gases medicinais e dessas condições relacionadas à segurança. Os responsáveis pelo setor devem receber treinamento pertinente ao assunto juntamente com os demais profissionais dos setores hospitalares que utilizam os gases medicinais, para que sua importância e seus riscos, caso as normas e legislações não forem seguidas, sejam difundidas no meio hospitalar.

It’s called medical gas any gas or gas mixture administered to patients who need treatment or prevention of disease. These inputs can be cryogenic, liquefied or compressed. Among the major medical gases used in hospitals, are the medical oxygen, medical nitrogen, medical air and nitrous oxide. The medical gas industry is responsible for storing and distribution of these inputs, but has great complexity due to the prevailing norms and laws that must be followed in order to avoid risks. During an internship curriculum mandatory in health-care facility in the city of Bauru, security-related deficiencies in the sector of medical gases were found. The research aimed to describe the main medical gases used in hospital, the types and forms of storage, report the operation of the sector and identify and present standards, legislations and recommendations for security-related manufacturers with the gases. The work was conducted through literature review along with a related observation research in containing the measures necessary for the proper functioning of the sector, observed during the implementation stage. After obtaining the results, it was found that many aspects of safety are not followed, and that few health professionals who have a knowledge of the sector of medical gases and related conditions such security. Those responsible for the sector shoud receive training relevant to the subject together with other professionals in the hospital sectors that use medical gases, so that it is importance and it is risks if the standards and laws are not followed, are widespread in hospitals.
