Manejo de bovinos de corte no pré-abate, durante o transporte e abate, visando o bem-estar animal

Abstract

O manejo de bovinos de corte visando o bem-estar animal tem ganhado cada vez mais visibilidade tanto no meio cientifico quanto no mercado e se tornado um compilado de boas normas de conduta a se seguir para ter bons resultados ao final da cadeia produtiva de bovinos de corte com ênfase na humanização deste processo. Com isso o presente objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar por meio de uma ampla coleta de dados os métodos de manejo de bovinos de corte, no pré-abate, durante o transporte e abate tendo em vista o bem-estar animal. Diante disto, observa-se que os resultados apontam, que durante todo o ciclo de vida do animal nota-se que manejo executado de forma inadequada, pode resultar no stress, que é um dos principais fatores que se sucedem a ocorrências de lesões, hematomas, agitação e acidentes com trabalhadores do meio, no momento de manejo do rebanho, interferindo expressamente na qualidade da carne e carcaça, podendo ocorrer a qualquer momento durante a produção, seja no pré-abate, transporte ou abate. A procura por métodos que valorizam a relação homem e animal mostra grandes resultados e vantagens ao produto final, pois as boas práticas de manejo tem se tornado um divisor de águas, ao se tornar referência no critério de compra de inúmeros consumidores deste nicho, que procuram por um produto de qualidade e procedência. Conclui-se então que o bem-estar animal além de humanizar está cadeia, facilita a execução do processo e gera bons resultados, trazendo uma maior competitividade e visibilidade aos que aderem a essa prática.

The management of beef cattle aiming at animal welfare has gained more and more visibility both in the scientific environment and in the market and has become a compilation of good standards of conduct to follow to have good results at the end of the beef cattle production chain with emphasis on the humanization of this process. Thus, the present objective of this work is to present through a broad data collection the methods of management of beef cattle, in the pre-slaughter, during transport and slaughter with a view to animal welfare. Given this, it is observed that the results point out, that throughout the life cycle of the animal it is noted that improperly performed management, can result in stress, which is one of the main factors that follow the occurrence of injuries, bruises, agitation and accidents with workers of the environment, at the time of herd management, expressly interfering in the quality of meat and carcass, It can occur at any time during production, whether in pre-slaughter, transport or slaughter. The search for methods that value the relationship between man and animal shows great results and advantages to the final product, because good management practices have become a watershed, becoming a reference in the purchase criteria of numerous consumers of this niche, who are looking for a product of quality and origin. It is then concluded that animal welfare in addition to humanizing this chain, facilitates the execution of the process and generates good results, bringing greater competitiveness and visibility to those who adhere to this practice.
