Xwindow system (interface gráfica para Linux)

Abstract

O intuito deste trabalho monográfico é fazer com que a interface gráfica Xwindow System possa ser mostrada, um pouco mais de perto, ao público usuário de outros sistemas operacionais, mostrando como esta interface gráfica, que pertence ao sistema operacional Linux, pode ser configurável e amigável, isto, de acordo com os padrões de uma interface gráfica com o usuário (GUI). Ao longo deste trabalho, será relatada esta interface gráfica em seis capítulos. O primeiro capítulo relatará sobre os históricos do sistema operacional Linux e sobra a sua interface gráfica (Xwindow System). O segundo capítulo dar-nos-á uma visão um pouco mais técnica sobre uma interface gráfica: os componentes principais de uma exibição gráfica em um PC e as definições dos termos técnicos envolvidos num processamento físico de uma exibição gráfica. Já, o terceiro capítulo trará uma introdução básica sobre a interface gráfica Xwindow System, abordando os seus principais aspectos e componentes, estes que serão denotados com mais detalhes e aprofundamento em capítulos posteriores. O quarto capítulo relatará sobre o funcionamento do Xwindow System, os seus componentes principais: os servidoresX, os gerenciadores de janela e a arquitetura de cliente-servidor (sua principal característica). O quinto capítulo será dedicado a um de seus componentes principais denominado servidorX, onde será feita uma alusão aos servidoresX comerciais e ao servidorX não comercial (servidorX Xfree86). Fechando-se o trabalho monográfico, serão apresentados os gerenciadores de janelas, estes que são um outro componente importante do Xwindow System.

The intuit of this work graduation is to do with that the graphic interface Xwindow System can be shown, a little more closely, to the public user of another operating systems, showing as this graphic interface, that it belongs to the operating system Linux, it can be configurable and friendly, this, of agreement to the patterns of a graphic interface with the user (GUI). Along this work, it will be told this graphic interface in six chapters. The first chapter will tell on the historical of the operating system Linux and on its graphic interface (Xwindow System). the second chapter will give us a vision a little more technique on a graphic interface: the main components of a graphic exhibition in a PC and the definitions of the technical terms involved in a physical processing of a graphic exhibition. Already, the third chapter will bring a basic introduction on the graphic interface Xwindow System, approaching its main aspects and components, these that will be denoted with more details in posterior chapters. The fourth chapter will tell on Xwindow System, its main components: the serversX, the window managers and the customer-server architecture (its main characteristic). The fifth chapter will be dedicated to one of its components main denominated serverX, where it will be made an allusion to the commercial serverX and the non commercial serverX (serverX Xfree86). Closing the work graduation, the managers of windows will be presented, these that are another important component of Xwindow System.
