Vulnerabilidades de softwares open source

Abstract

Atualmente, as organizações trabalham com um alto volume de dados, sendo de clientes, fornecedores, colaboradores ou da própria organização. Dessa forma, faz-se necessário assegurar a segurança dessas informações, uma vez que isto seja um dos maiores desafios no mundo corporativo, pois fazem com que as organizações necessitem cada vez mais investir em segurança. Juntamente com a segurança, existem as vulnerabilidades, que podem ser qualquer elemento que possa contribuir para causar invasões, roubos de informações ou acessos não autorizados, que podem causar danos e prejuízos. Entretanto, conhecendo as principais vulnerabilidades em segurança, é possível que os gestores consigam tomar as melhores decisões e adotar as melhoras práticas com o intuito de evitar que elas se tornem um problema para a organização. O uso de softwares open source tem ganhado cada vez mais espaço dentro das organizações, no entanto, o seu uso pode não trazer apenas benefícios a empresa, como também algumas desvantagens ou até mesmo prejuízos. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar as vulnerabilidades que os softwares open sources possuem, além de realçar as vantagens e desvantagens sobre o seu uso, com a finalidade de conscientizar usuários e instituições que utilizam esse tipo de software. Foram utilizados neste projeto diversas pesquisas publicadas na Internet que contribuíram no processo com informações significativas para levantar dados necessários para o desenvolvimento deste estudo. Entre os principais resultados, está o fato de que as organizações devem se preocupar para que todos os seus colaboradores estejam cientes de suas responsabilidades mediante as ameaças e falhas de Segurança da Informação, principalmente na utilização de softwares open source.

Currently, organizations work with a high volume of data, whether from customers, suppliers, employees, or the organization itself. In this way, it is necessary to ensure the security of this information, since this is one of the biggest challenges in the corporate world, as they make organizations increasingly need to invest in security. Along with security, there are vulnerabilities, which can be any element that can contribute to intrusions, theft of information or unauthorized access, which can cause damage and loss. However, knowing the main security vulnerabilities, it is possible for managers to be able to make the best decisions and adopt best practices to prevent them from becoming a problem for the organization. The use of open-source software has gained more and more space within organizations; however, its use may not only bring benefits to the company, but also some disadvantages or even losses. The objective of this research is to identify the vulnerabilities that open-source software has, in addition to highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of its use, in order to raise awareness of users and institutions that use this type of software. Several studies published on the Internet were used in this project, which contributed to the process with significant information to gather data necessary for the development of this study. Among the main results is the fact that organizations should be concerned that all their employees are aware of their responsibilities regarding threats and failures in Information Security, especially in the use of open-source software.
