Fatores que influenciaram na doação de sangue

Abstract

A doação de sangue é um gesto solidário, no qual uma pequena quantidade do próprio sangue é capaz de salvar a vida de pessoas que necessitam disso para sobreviver. A primeira transfusão de sangue foi realizada, de forma experimental, entre animais, e após, realizada a tentativa de transfundir sangue de um carneiro em um humano, sem sucesso. Após a descoberta dos grupos sanguíneos, foi possível realizar transfusões de forma mais segura e eficaz, e o passar dos anos trouxe a evolução da qualidade e segurança do procedimento. Atualmente, existem critérios de triagem que definem quem pode doar sangue, impedimentos temporários e definitivos, e um intervalo mínimo para os doadores. Sabe-se que a doação de sangue enfrenta muitas barreiras, como o medo da população e dúvidas quanto ao processo, sendo a falta de conhecimento o principal fator que influencia na tomada de decisão. Diante disso, faz se necessário compreender os fatores que facilitam ou dificultam a adesão da população à doação de sangue, bem como conscientizá-la sobre a importância deste ato e fornecer informações a respeito do processo de doação, minimizando as barreiras. Esse estudo teve por objetivo identificar o conhecimento dos alunos matriculados no 1º módulo dos cursos técnico em enfermagem, eletromecânica e mecatrônica da escola ETEC Paulino Botelho sobre doação de sangue. Este é um estudo quantitativo, descritivo e exploratório. A população alvo consistiu em estudantes dos cursos técnicos de enfermagem, eletromecânica e mecatrônica. A coleta de dados ocorreu em três etapas, sendo a primeira a revisão da literatura, a segunda a elaboração de uma videoaula e a terceira, a aplicação de um questionário antes e após a apresentação de videoaula. Os resultados foram analisados e contabilizados no Microsoft Excel® e por conseguinte, elaborados gráficos. Constatou-se que, entre os 66 participantes, apenas 5 eram doadores de sangue, e que os motivos que influenciavam na adesão ou não à prática eram falta de conhecimento e informação a respeito do processo, contraindicação médica, medo, falta de tempo e necessidade de flexibilidade de horário. Salienta-se que parte dos entrevistados referiu que doariam somente se fosse para conhecido ou familiar, e metade não sabiam sobre o processo de doação e seus riscos. Concluiu-se que existe desinformação, principalmente sobre o processo da doação de sangue. Sendo assim, evidenciou-se a necessidade de abordar o assunto ao longo do período escolar, por ser um serviço de suma importância na formação dos cidadãos, fornecendo informações sobre o processo, sanando dúvidas e proporcionando reflexões sobre a temática, aumentando o engajamento e a adesão à doação de sangue pel

Blood donation is a solidarity gesture, in which a small amount of your own blood is able to save the lives of people who need it to survive. The first blood transfusion was carried out, experimentally, between animals, and afterwards, an attempt was made to transfuse blood from a sheep into a human, without success. After the discovery of blood groups, it was possible to perform transfusions in a safer and more efficient way, and the passing of the years brought the evolution of the quality and safety of the procedure. Currently, there are screening criteria that define who can donate blood, temporary and permanent impediments, and a minimum interval for donors. It is known that blood donation faces many barriers, such as fear of the population and doubts about the process, with lack of knowledge being the main factor that influences decision-making. In view of this, it is necessary to understand the factors that facilitate or hinder the population's adherence to blood donation, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of this act and provide information about the donation process, minimizing barriers. This study aimed to identify the knowledge of the students enrolled in the 1st module of the technical courses in nursing, electromechanics and mechatronics at the ETEC Paulino Botelho school about blood donation. This is a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory study. The target population consisted of students of technical nursing, electromechanics and mechatronics courses. Data collection took place in three stages, the first being the literature review, the second the preparation of a video lesson and the third, the application of a questionnaire before and after the video lesson presentation. The results were analyzed and accounted for in Microsoft Excel® and, therefore, graphs were created. It was found that, among the 66 participants, only 5 were blood donors, and that the reasons that influenced adherence or not to the practice were lack of knowledge and information about the process, medical contraindications, fear, lack of time and need of schedule flexibility. It should be noted that part of the interviewees said that they would donate only if it was for an acquaintance or family member, and half did not know about the donation process and its risks. It was concluded that there is misinformation, mainly about the blood donation process. Therefore, the need to address the subject throughout the school period was evident, as it is a service of paramount importance in the formation of citizens, providing information about the process, solving doubts and providing reflections on the subject, increasing engagement and adherence to blood donation by the population.
