Abstract: Objective: This article aims to identify, verify, and describe the presence of Design elements, based on the Information Design principles applied to the interfaces of an e-commerce site. Methods: This is a qualitative study divided into two stages. The first stage, bibliographical, it was sought to analyze and systematize the principles of Information Design. The second stage consisted of analyzing the interfaces, descriptions of the Design elements and structures. Results: It was verified that the selection of Information Design principles for the analysis and construction of e-commerce sites is efficient and suitable for optimizing these environments. It was found that the analyzed site does not satisfactorily meet the selected Design principles shown in the study. Through the principles of Information Design, a prototype was proposed for the construction of a new Interface, with improvements in the information hierarchy, use of clearer and cleaner images for a better understanding of the environment, suggestion of new colors and the inclusion of iconographic elements. Conclusions: Information Design and its elements, properly structured in the interface, help in the improvement of e-commerce sites. It is, therefore, an adequate resource for analyzing and optimizing the effectiveness of e-commerce and information systems. Keywords:Information Design; E-commerce; User Experience.
