Conscientização sobre a mudança climática : Projeto Apocalypse RPG (Role-Playing Game)

Abstract

Na história de Warren Dean (1932-1994), o professor da universidade de Nova York, estudou a fundo a História do Brasil ao contar os 500 anos da nação do ponto de vista da Mata Atlântica. Logo no começo, Dean lembra que o primeiro ato dos europeus ao pisar em Pindorama foi cortar uma árvore (para fazer uma cruz). Daí em diante, para a Mata Atlântica, foi ladeira abaixo. Vários dos temas que surgem hoje no debate ambiental, como a noção furada de que desenvolvimento é igual a desmatamento, a grilagem de terras, a ineficiência absurda da economia rural e a resistência organizada de setores da sociedade à destruição, aparecem no livro e o leitor percebe que eles são antigos, mas, ainda geram consequências até os dias de hoje.

In the history of Warren Dean (1932-1994), the professor at the University of New York, studied the history of Brazil in depth when telling the 500 years of the nation from the point of view of the Atlantic Forest. At the beginning, Dean recalls that the first European act when stepping on Pindorama was to cut down a tree (to make a cross). From then on, for the Atlantic Forest, it went downhill. Several of the themes that appear today in the environmental debate, such as the stuck notion that development equals deforestation, land grabbing, the absurd inefficiency of the rural economy and the organized resistance of sectors of society to destruction, appear in the book and the reader realizes that they are old but still have consequences to this day.
