Microempreendedor Individual - MEI

Abstract

O Microempreendedor Individual é a nova forma de empreendedorismo no Brasil. Criado para facilitar as condições de muitos trabalhadores autônomos que viviam na informalidade, o Microempreendedor Individual traz a esses trabalhadores, direitos e deveres, assim como os trabalhadores formais. No ano de 2004, em São Paulo, surgiu a proposta de criar a figura do Empreendedor Individual, através da Associação Comercial do Estado de São Paulo. Diante do envio da proposta ao Congresso Nacional, onde já tramitava o Projeto da Lei Geral das Micro e Pequenas Empresas nº 123/2006, incluiu­se através do artigo 68 o conceito de Empreendedor Individual, ou seja, estava se iniciando uma nova forma de Empreendedorismo no Brasil. A formalização e todo o procedimento do MEI é muito simples, fácil e rápido. No portal do empreendedor do SEBRAE, encontra­se todo o caminho que deve ser percorrido para a formalização. O MEI já ajudou mais de um milhão de trabalhadores que estavam na informalidade, dando a eles benefícios iguais aos de trabalhadores formais. O Projeto desenvolvido esclarece ao leitor, tudo o que é necessário para se tornar um MEI, como se inscrever, quais tributos deverá pagar, quais benefícios receberá o Empreendedor, o que pode e não pode em sua Microempresa, dados e estatísticas de outros países que adotaram esse método, e o principal, esse Projeto traz ao público, a história do MEI. Onde surgiu, em que ano surgiu, por que, qual legislação o criou, quais são as atividades permitidas para serem exercidas como MEI, etc.
