Benefícios da utilização de leguminosa na renovação do canavial

Abstract

Esse trabalho foi realizado por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica a respeito da sucessão de culturas e os benefícios observados com a utilização dessa prática. A cana-de-açúcar é a matéria-prima mais antiga do Brasil, e além de gerar o açúcar e o álcool, ela também colabora na produção de alimentos, papel, energia elétrica, entre outros. Para atender à enorme demanda do mercado, a expansão de áreas de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar tem crescido de maneira significativa durante os últimos anos. Apesar dos benefícios, o cultivo da cana-deaçúcar traz alguns problemas. Um dos principais problemas causados pelo seu cultivo é o desgaste excessivo do solo. Uma opção para minimizar os efeitos desse problema é adotar a prática da sucessão de culturas. Atualmente, aliado a essa prática, tem se adotado o sistema de plantio direto nas áreas de reforma do canavial. As culturas mais utilizadas em sucessão com a cana são as leguminosas, que por serem plantas de ciclo curto não interferem no plantio da cana. Observou-se que a prática da sucessão de culturas, em geral, melhora as características físicas, químicas e biológicas do solo, além de diminuir significativamente a erosão do mesmo e combater as plantas voluntárias e daninhas. Sendo que a principal vantagem de se utilizar as leguminosas em sucessão com a cana-de-açúcar, é que essas plantas têm a capacidade de fixar nitrogênio atmosférico. Com relação ao uso do amendoim em áreas de reforma de canavial, além dos benefícios já citados, este também ajuda na conservação do solo, na ciclagem de nutrientes e no aumento da produtividade de colmos. O uso da crotalária além de manter a cobertura do solo, também possui a capacidade de fixar o nitrogênio atmosférico e aumentar a produtividade e velocidade de emergência da cana-de-açúcar. A utilização da soja em áreas de reforma do canavial se apresenta como a mais viável, pois além dos benefícios já citados o seu cultivo, muitas vezes, utiliza as mesmas máquinas usadas no plantio da cana. Observa-se também que com o lucro obtido da colheita de grãos, pode-se subsidiar os custos de implantação do canavial.

This work was developed through of a bibliographic review about crop succession and the benefits with the use of this practical. The sugarcane is the most ancient raw material of Brazil and generates sugar and alcohol, and also collaborates in production of food, paper, electricity, and others. To meet the huge market demand, the expansion of cultivated areas of sugarcane has grown significantly during the past year. Despite the benefits, the cultivation of sugarcane has some problems. One of the main problems caused by cultivation of sugarcane is the excessive wear of the soil. One option to minimize the effects of this problem is to adopt the practice of crop succession. Currently, combined with the crop succession, has adopted the system of tillage in the areas of reform of sugarcane. The most widely used crops in succession with sugarcane are legumes, that for being short-cycle plants do not interfere in the cultivation of sugarcane. It was observed that the practice of crop succession, in general, improves the physical, chemical and biological soil, also significantly reduce the erosion of it and fight the weeds and volunteer plants. Since the main advantage of using legumes in succession with sugarcane, is that these plants have the ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen. Regarding the use of peanuts in the areas of reform of sugarcane, in addition to the benefits already mentioned, this also helps in the conservation of soil, nutrient cycling and increase the crop yield. The use of sunn besides maintaining soil cover also has the ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen and increases productivity and speed of emergence of sugarcane. The use of soybeans in the sugarcane fields of reform is presented as the most viable, because in addition to benefits already mentioned its culture, often using the same machines used in the cultivation of sugarcane. It was also noted that with the profit of the grain harvest, we can subsidize the cost of establishment of sugarcane.
