Abstract

O trabalho visa apresentar a importância da logística em especial das atividades de armazenagem e transporte, para o setor sucroenergético. Desta maneira, o trabalho analisa as características, utilização, vantagens e desvantagens dos modais de transporte rodoviário, ferroviário, hidroviário, dutoviário e aéreo. Também analisa a aplicação do transporte intermodal e aplicação da gestão na armazenagem como definir o local interno, unitização, movimentação, acomodação e controle de estoque no setor sucroenergético. A atividade logística, armazenagem e transporte possuem altos custos, com a aplicação da logística no setor, escolher o modal de transporte ideal e aplicar a gestão de armazenagem, a uma redução nos custos logísticos. Investindo em logística no setor significa reduzir custos, aumentar satisfação do cliente, entregando no prazo previsto e atendendo o mercado competitivo. Como resultado, verificou-se o uso apropriado da logística no setor sucroenergético, uma vez que grande parte das atividades desenvolvidas é mecanizada.

The objective of the report is to introduce the importance of Logistics, particularly to the storage and transportation activities in the sugarcane based industry. This way the report analyzes the characteristics, the usability, the pros and the cons of transport modes by road, rail, water, pipeline and air. It also analyzes the implementation of intermodal transport and storing management, as in determining indoor space, stock unitization, cargo handling, storage and stock control in the ethanol sector. The logistical activity, the storing and the transport are highly costly. However, by implementing logistics in the sector, choosing the ideal means of transportation and managing the stores, the logistical costs are reduced. Investing in logistics in the sector means cutting costs, increasing clients’ satisfaction, delivering within deadlines, and adapting to the competitive market. As a result, there is the appropriated use of logistics once most of the activities are mechanized.
