Uso e composição de cosméticos: comparação entre produtos sintéticos e de origem natural

Abstract

O mercado de produtos para uso pessoal é um dos que mais cresceu na última década. Entre os principais itens desse segmento estão: produtos de higiene pessoal, perfumaria e cosméticos. Uma das questões mais importantes na atualidade reside na procura de uma melhor qualidade de vida. Isso ocorre naturalmente porque o aumento da expectativa de vida na atualidade é um fato amplamente reconhecido. Desde que os seres humanos estão vivendo cada vez mais tempo com essa realidade, há uma procura crescente por produtos naturais livres de aditivos químicos e conservantes sintéticos que possam prejudicar a longevidade da qualidade de vida. Outro ponto relevante, e pouco estudado, é compreender os efeitos de resíduos químicos sobre a pele e no ambiente. O presente trabalho tem por finalidade revelar alguns dos principais ingredientes de origem sintética usados em produtos de uso pessoal, mostrando suas funções e riscos, aos quais estão envolvidos, baseando-se em estudos publicados. A metodologia aplicada se baseou em levantamento e revisão de literatura científica existente. Será proposto que para substituição destes, sejam utilizados produtos de origem vegetal, que possuem embasamento científico, permitindo a comprovação dos benefícios na saúde de quem os usa. Ao final, são apresentadas considerações sobre a consciência do consumidor com relação aos produtos sintéticos e orgânicos, destacando-se os benefícios ou dificuldades encontrados em ambos.

The products market for personal use is one of the markets that has increased the most the last decade. Among the main items of this segment are the following: personal, perfumery and cosmetics hygiene products. One of the most important issues today lies in finding a better quality of life. It following because the increase in life expectancy nowadays is a widely recognized fact. Since human beings are living longer and longer with this reality, there is a growing demand for natural products free of chemical additives and synthetic preservatives that can harm the longevity of the quality of life. Another relevant point, and little studied, is to understand the effects of chemical residues on the skin and the environment. This study aims to reveal some of the main ingredients of synthetic origin used in personal products, showing their roles and risks to which they are involved, based on published studies. The methodology applied was based on survey and existing scientific literature review. It will be proposed that to replace these synthetic products of plant origin are used, which have a scientific basis, allowing for evidence of health benefits to those who use them. Finally, considerations are made on consumer awareness with respect to synthetic and organic products, highlighting the benefits or difficulties found in both of them.
