This study aimed to develop and structurally evaluate a splice joint for the main wing spar of the Piper PA-38 Tomahawk aircraft using three-dimensional modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The geometric model was developed in SOLIDWORKS software based on technical information available in aeronautical literature, aircraft manuals, and applicable industry standards. AA2024-T3 aluminum alloy was selected for the spar structure, AA7075-T6 aluminum alloy for the structural joint, and AN4-10A bolts were adopted as fastening elements. The loading condition was defined through an analytical method suitable for the modeled section, using an equivalent force capable of representing the bending moment acting at the wing root. The numerical analysis results identified critical stress concentration regions, mainly located around the fastening holes. The initial joint sizing, obtained through simplified analytical calculations, resulted in a safety factor below the minimum required value, requiring geometric refinement. After increasing the joint thickness, the final configuration achieved a safety factor of approximately 1.54, meeting the structural requirements established for the analyzed loading condition. Furthermore, displacement and strain results demonstrated behavior compatible with elastic structural operation. It is concluded that the adopted methodology successfully validated the proposed structural configuration, highlighting the importance of combining analytical methods and Finite Element Analysis in the design and verification of aeronautical components.pt_BR
