| pt_BR |
| dc.description.abstract | The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has established, within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that directly impact the maritime transport sector. Considered the main channel for international trade, responsible for approximately 90% of global cargo movement, maritime transport still accounts for about 3% of global GHG emissions (SILVA et al., 2021). The transition to sustainable practices requires significant adaptations from shipowners, including the adoption of alternative fuels and new energy efficiency technologies. This study aims to analyze the strategies adopted by shipowners in response to the IMO 2030 agenda, focusing on the decarbonization of the maritime sector and highlighting the main global challenges and opportunities. The research, qualitative in nature and based on a literature review, revealed that although there has been progress in alternative fuels and process digitalization, shipowners still show slowness in adapting due to high costs, technological limitations, and regulatory uncertainties. | pt_BR |
