This work aimed to evaluate the replacement of industrial chemical insecticides and herbicides with sustainable methods in the domestic environment. The frequent use of commercial pesticides at home hides severe risks of acute poisoning and accidents, especially involving children due to easy access to these substances. To counter this scenario, the study analyzed the efficiency of two alternative solutions prepared with simple and accessible ingredients: a homemade herbicide composed of water, vinegar, salt, and detergent, and an insecticide formulated with water, neutral detergent, and Pinho Sol. The results indicated that the alternative recipes are viable and effective through physical contact actions, promoting the dehydration of weeds and significantly reducing mealybug infestation. It is concluded that sustainable management plays a fundamental role in household maintenance, ensuring the efficient control of unwanted organisms, reducing environmental impacts, and preserving the health of residents by eliminating dependence on synthetic chemical poisons.pt_BR
