This study analyzed social invisibility and its impacts on human resource management, focusing on the appreciation of essential operational workers. Through bibliographic and field research conducted in Mauá, São Paulo, Brazil, it sought to understand how the lack of recognition affects motivation, self-esteem, and the employee's connection to the company. Throughout the reading, the reader will find a discussion on how operational functions, although indispensable for the functioning of organizations, are still historically undervalued. The study presents data showing that the absence of simple gestures, such as praise, using the employee's name, and participation in decisions, generates demotivation, increases turnover, and harms the organizational climate. Authors such as Helena Hirata and Christophe Dejours support theoretical analysis, relating invisibility to suffering at work. The field research confirmed that small acts of recognition have a direct impact on the feeling of belonging and productivity. As a result, the study proposes that investing in human appreciation is not a cost, but a management strategy. Finally, accessible practices are suggested that leaders and companies can adopt to make the environment more respectful, productive, and humane. In short, this thesis shows that bringing workers out of invisibility strengthens the entire organizational structure. The reader should expect a critical reflection, based on real data, on the urgency of recognizing those who sustain the operation every day.pt_BR
