Mock-up secundário: descrição de técnica

Abstract

A utilização do mock-up é uma ferramenta essencial no planejamento e execução de reabilitações estéticas em Odontologia. O termo, derivado do inglês, significa “modelo simulado” e, na prática odontológica, refere-se a uma maquete física dos dentes que possibilita visualizar o resultado final do tratamento antes de sua execução definitiva. O mock-up, confeccionado a partir do enceramento diagnóstico (wax-up), permite avaliar forma, função, fonética e estética, garantindo maior previsibilidade e segurança ao tratamento. Além de seu uso estético, pode atuar como guia em procedimentos cirúrgicos periodontais, como gengivoplastias e gengivectomias. Para o planejamento do caso foi realizado a análise dos parâmetros estéticos, sendo eles proporção facial, terços faciais e linha do sorriso em conjunto com as fotografias digitais que atuam como meio facilitador de comunicação entre cirurgião-dentista e técnico em prótese dentária, além garantir imagens para serem comparadas ao final do tratamento. O wax-up foi realizado com cera rainbow para escultura e o mock-up com silicona de condensação Zetaplus- Zhermack. O guia foi confeccionado de modo que abrangesse todos os dentes envolvidos na reabilitação, mantendo espessura uniforme em sua extensão e lisura de toda superfície, nele foi realizado os recortes na região cervicais, proximais e palatina. A resina bisacrílica Primma Art – FGM A1 foi escolhida para pré-visualizar o trabalho proposto, avaliando-se a linha do sorriso, a proporção dentária e a harmonia estética antes de dar continuidade ao tratamento. Portanto, o mock-up secundário é fundamental nos tratamentos reabilitadores estéticos, pois garante precisão, previsibilidade e fidelidade na transferência do wax-up assegurando maior aceite do paciente ao resultado final do tratamento, diminuindo o risco de um desfecho desagradável.

The use of mock-ups is an essential tool in the planning and execution of aesthetic rehabilitations in dentistry. The term, derived from English, means "simulated model" and, in dental practice, refers to a physical model of the teeth that allows visualization of the final result of the treatment before its definitive execution. The mock-up, made from diagnostic wax-up, allows evaluation of form, function, phonetics, and aesthetics, ensuring greater predictability and safety to the treatment. In addition to its aesthetic use, it can act as a guide in periodontal surgical procedures, such as gingivoplasties and gingivectomies. For the case planning, an analysis of the aesthetic parameters was carried out, namely facial proportion, facial thirds, and smile line, in conjunction with digital photographs that act as a means of facilitating communication between the dentist and dental prosthesis technician, as well as guaranteeing images to be compared at the end of the treatment. The wax-up was performed with rainbow wax for sculpting and the mock-up with Zetaplus-Zhermack condensation silicone. The guide was made to encompass all the teeth involved in the rehabilitation, maintaining uniform thickness throughout its length and smoothness of the entire surface. Cutouts were made in the cervical, proximal, and palatal regions. The bisacrylic resin Primma Art – FGM A1 was chosen to preview the proposed work, evaluating the smile line, dental proportion, and aesthetic harmony before continuing with the treatment. Therefore, the secondary mock-up is fundamental in aesthetic rehabilitation treatments, as it guarantees precision, predictability, and fidelity in the transfer of the wax-up, ensuring greater patient acceptance of the final treatment result, reducing the risk of an unpleasant outcome.
