Abstract

Este TCC é sobre a história das armas químicas, feito por Wallifer William Caroba Silva, a química foi algo que trouxe muitos benefícios para a humanidade principalmente na área da medicina, porém o que vai ser apresentado aqui é os malefícios do uso da química pela humanidade e como ela evoluiu com o passar do tempo, indo algo simples e perigoso, para algo em escala industrial e mais letal, contanto o uso de algumas armas químicas em tempos antigos até para primeira guerra mundial e segunda guerra mundial. A evolução indo para colocar laxante no rio, sonífero nos tonéis de vinho e jogar animais venenosos em navios, para as temidas armas químicas da guerra como o fosgênio que pode causar tosse grave e edema pulmonar um processo que demora entre duas e seis horas, gás mostarda, nome dado pelo pela sua aparência, que causa bolhas dolorosas, hemorragia interna, vômitos constantes e queimaduras na pele, E saindo de gases temos o napalm que na sua mistura de reagentes vai gasolina que faz parecer um gel altamente inflamável, que é muito lembrado pelo seu uso na guerra do Vietnã para queimar as florestas, porem pode ser usado em lança chamas. Mostrando as evoluções das armas químicas, vemos algo que deveria ser usado para o bem, sendo usado para o mal.

This thesis is about the history of chemical weapons, created by Wallifer William Caroba Silva. Chemistry has brought many benefits to humanity, especially in the field of medicine. However, what will be presented here are the harms caused by the use of chemistry by humans and how it has evolved over time—from something simple and dangerous to something industrial-scale and even more lethal. It covers the use of some chemical weapons in ancient times, through the First and Second World Wars. The evolution includes tactics like putting laxatives in rivers, sedatives in barrels of wine, and throwing poisonous animals onto ships, all the way to the dreaded chemical weapons of war, such as phosgene—which can cause severe coughing and pulmonary edema, a process that takes between two and six hours—and mustard gas, named for its appearance, which causes painful blisters, internal bleeding, constant vomiting, and skin burns. Moving beyond gases, we also examine napalm. In its mixture of reagents is gasoline, which makes it appear like a highly flammable gel. Itis strongly associated with its use in the Vietnam War to burn forests, although it can also be used in flamethrowers. By showing the evolution of chemical weapons, we see how something that should be used for good has instead been used for harm.
