Ciclo cultural do morango com a implantação da técnica de mulching

Abstract

O filme mulching é uma técnica agrícola que tem se mostrado eficaz na melhoria dos resultados das lavouras. Inicialmente, essa prática envolvia o uso de materiais orgânicos para cobrir o solo, mas com o tempo a técnica evoluiu e hoje o uso de filmes plásticos específicos é a opção mais eficiente. O termo mulching se refere tanto ao filme plástico ou lona utilizado na cobertura do solo quanto à própria técnica de aplicação, que consiste em aplicar uma fina manta de polietileno sobre o local de cultivo para em seguida plantar nos recortes do plástico. Essa abordagem oferece ao agricultor mais praticidade, além de gerar economia e aumentar a qualidade da produção. Embora a cobertura morta, outra técnica agrícola, possua uma abordagem similar, ela costuma exigir mais manutenção, o que pode ser considerado inconveniente. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o ciclo de cultivo do morango utilizando o mulching com filme plástico. Serão abordados a origem, as características principais e os benefícios dessa técnica, destacando sua eficiência no controle de ervas daninhas e na conservação da umidade do solo. Será discutido também os fatores determinantes da cor ideal do plástico a ser utilizado, e, tendo vista disso, o tipo selecionado para execução deste trabalho final de curso foi a dupla face preto e branco, uma vez que a cor branca é virada para cima, por refletir a luz do sol (reduzindo a temperatura) e a cor preta virada para o solo (mantendo a umidade nas raízes das plantas).

The use of mulching film is an agricultural technique that provides better results in crops. The first coverings employed were made with organic materials; however, over time, the technique evolved, and today the best way to apply mulching is by using specific plastic films. Mulching is understood as the plastic film or tarp, and also as an agricultural technique that uses a thin polyethylene sheet to cover the soil around the plants. In summary, it provides farmers with more convenience, economy, and quality in production. Mulching, also known as "mulch," is an agricultural and gardening technique that involves covering the soil around the plants with organic materials. This technique can be considered inconvenient due to its maintenance needs. This study aims to analyze the strawberry cycle with the use of "plastic film" mulching. Initially, the origin and main characteristics will be addressed, and how the technique is commonly used due to its effectiveness in combating and reducing weeds and conserving moisture. It is suggested that the ideal color of the plastic used in the technique depends on the climatic condition of the region and the products to be cultivated to obtain all the benefits that mulching provides. In view of this, the type selected for the execution of this final course project was black and white doublesided film, with the white side facing up to reflect sunlight (reducing temperature) and the black side facing the soil, maintaining moisture in the plant roots.
