Custo operacional da cultura da batata-doce

Abstract

A batata-doce (Ipomoea batatas L. (Lam.)) é uma planta tropical de origem americana, sendo, portanto, bem adaptada às nossas condições climáticas. Comparada às culturas do arroz, banana, milho e sorgo, a batata-doce é mais eficiente em quantidade de energia líquida produzida por unidade de área e por unidade de tempo. O objetivo deste trabalho é determinar o custo operacional total de produção da cultura da batata-doce, no município de Fernando Prestes, SP. A pesquisa ocorreu por meio de um levantamento em campo onde os produtores foram entrevistados, obedecendo-se a um questionário, no qual continham os elementos básicos sobre o manejo de produção da cultura. Para a determinação do custo operacional total (COT), utilizou-se a metodologia do custo de produção proposta por MATSUNAGA et al. (1976) e usado pelo Instituto de Economia Agrícola – IEA. O custo operacional total (COT) da cultura da batata-doce, no período considerado, foi de R$ 7.035,24/hectare. As operações manuais contribuíram com 61,34% enquanto as mecanizadas contribuíram com 38,66% do total gasto com as operações realizadas durante o ciclo da cultura. Deve-se destacar a importância desta cultura dentro de um sistema de agricultura familiar visto que há maior demanda de mão-de-obra manual em relação à mecanizada. Em relação às operações realizadas no processo produtivo da batata-doce no custo operacional total, o preparo do solo, os tratos culturais e o plantio contribuíram com 22,02%, 23,48% e 17,23%, respectivamente. Insumos e materiais foram responsáveis por 50,45% do custo operacional total.

The sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L. (Lam)) is a tropical plant of American origin, therefore very well adapted in our climate conditions. Compared to the culture of rice, banana, corn and sorghum, the sweet potato is much more efficient in the quantity of liquid energy produced per unit area and per unit time. The objective of this project is to determine the total operating cost of crop production of sweet potato, in the town of Fernando Prestes, SP. The research occurred by means of a field survey where farmers were interviewed, using a questionnaire in which had the basic elements about production maneuver of the crop. To determine the total cost of the operation was used a methodology of cost production proposed by MATSUNAGA et al. (1976) and used by Instituto de Economia Agrícola – IEA. The total operational cost of the sweet potato, in the time considered, was R$ 7.035,24/hectare. The manual operation contributed for 61,34% while the mechanized contributed for 38,66% of the total cost with the operations being realized during a crop cycle. It is worth noting the importance of the crop within an agriculture system familiar with a larger demand of manual labor compared to mechanical. Regarding operations in the production process of sweet potato in the total operating cost, soil preparation, the cultivation and the planting contributed with22,02%, 23,48% and 17,23%,respectively. Inputs and materials was responsible for 50,45% of the total operational cost.
