Abstract

Os jogos de azar têm se consolidado como um fenômeno social e econômico de grande relevância no Brasil, especialmente com a expansão das apostas esportivas online e das plataformas digitais conhecidas como bets. O crescimento desse mercado reflete transformações culturais e tecnológicas que tornaram o acesso ao jogo mais fácil, mas também mais perigoso, diante da ausência de fiscalização e da influência de estratégias publicitárias voltadas a públicos vulneráveis. O presente estudo busca compreender os impactos dessas práticas, que envolvem desde a geração de receitas e empregos até problemas relacionados à ludopatia, ao endividamento e ao desequilíbrio emocional e familiar. A pesquisa analisa o tema sob diferentes perspectivas, administrativa, jurídica, psicológica e social, explorando como o avanço tecnológico e o marketing digital contribuem para a normalização das apostas no cotidiano. Também discute o papel da mídia e dos influenciadores digitais na divulgação desses conteúdos, evidenciando como o jogo é promovido como forma de lazer e oportunidade financeira, mesmo representando riscos significativos para a saúde mental e para o controle financeiro dos indivíduos. Além disso, apresenta o panorama histórico e legislativo das apostas no país, destacando a necessidade de regulamentação e fiscalização eficazes diante do rápido crescimento desse setor. Com base em entrevistas, pesquisas de campo e análises de casos recentes, o estudo revela que as apostas, embora movimentem bilhões de reais e fortaleçam segmentos econômicos, têm provocado sérios danos sociais, especialmente entre jovens e pessoas de baixa renda. O fácil acesso às plataformas digitais, a ilusão de lucro rápido e a ausência de políticas preventivas agravam a dependência e os prejuízos financeiros. Conclui-se que a conscientização da população, o incentivo a práticas responsáveis e a criação de políticas públicas de controle são medidas essenciais para equilibrar os benefícios econômicos com a preservação da saúde e do bem-estar coletivo.

Games of chance have become a social and economic phenomenon of great relevance in Brazil, especially with the expansion of online sports betting and digital platforms known as bets. The growth of this market reflects cultural and technological transformations that have made access to gambling easier but also more dangerous, given the lack of oversight and the influence of advertising strategies aimed at vulnerable audiences. This study seeks to understand the impacts of these practices, which involve not only the generation of income and employment but also problems related to gambling addiction, indebtedness, and emotional and family imbalance. The research analyzes the topic from administrative, legal, psychological, and social perspectives, exploring how technological advances and digital marketing contribute to the normalization of betting in everyday life. It also discusses the role of the media and digital influencers in promoting gambling as a form of entertainment and financial opportunity, while exposing the significant risks to mental health and financial stability. Furthermore, it presents the historical and legislative context of gambling in Brazil, emphasizing the need for effective regulation and oversight in the face of this rapidly growing sector. Based on interviews, field research, and the analysis of recent cases, the study reveals that gambling, while generating billions of reais and supporting economic sectors, has caused severe social damage, especially among young people and low-income groups. Easy access to digital platforms, the illusion of quick profits, and the lack of preventive policies intensify addiction and financial losses. It is concluded that public awareness, the promotion of responsible gaming, and the creation of public policies for control are essential measures to balance economic benefits with the preservation of health and collective well-being.
