Sexualidade na terceira idade: quebrando o tabu e valorizando o prazer na matuidade

Abstract

A sexualidade na terceira idade ainda é marcada por preconceitos e falta de informação, o que limita o diálogo e o cuidado adequado com essa população. Este estudo busca analisar como os idosos vivenciam a sexualidade e destacar o papel da enfermagem na promoção de uma vida sexual saudável e segura. A pesquisa consiste em revisão bibliográfica baseada em estudos publicados entre 2020 a 2025. Os resultados mostram que a sexualidade permanece importante no envelhecimento e influencia o bem-estar físico e emocional, além de evidenciar o aumento de ISTs nessa faixa etária. Conclui-se que a enfermagem tem papel fundamental na orientação, prevenção e desconstrução de tabus.

Sexuality in old age is still marked by prejudice and lack of information, which limits dialogue and adequate care for this population. This study seeks to analyze how older adults experience sexuality and highlight the role of nursing in promoting a healthy and safe sex life. The research consists of a literature review based on studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that sexuality remains important in aging and influences physical and emotional well-being, in addition to highlighting the increase in STIs in this age group. It is concluded that nursing plays a fundamental role in guidance, prevention, and the deconstruction of taboos.
