O impacto da doença de Alzheimer(da) no âmbito familiar

Abstract

A longevidade aumentou com avanços médicos, resultando em uma população mais idosa. Doenças crônicas, como a Doença de Alzheimer (DA), afetam os idosos e impactam os seus cuidadores, sejam formais ou informais. O diagnóstico precoce, grupos de apoio e a atuação da enfermagem são essenciais para lidar com essa condição. O presente estudo tem o objetivo de orientar e conscientizar os alunos com relação a DA e o impacto psicológico na família. É um estudo quantitativo, descritivo e exploratório. Como instrumento de coleta de dados, foi aplicado a 29 alunos do primeiro módulo do Curso Técnico em Enfermagem, um questionário pré e pós intervenção com 11 perguntas. A intervenção ocorreu através de uma aula expositiva e dialogada com auxílio de recursos visuais e distribuição de um folder de autoria própria abordando aspectos da DA e da rede de apoio às famílias disponíveis no município. Os resultados demonstraram que a maioria dos participantes não estava familiarizada com as fases da doença e com os cuidados necessários para o paciente, assim como com as redes de apoio disponíveis. Além disso, constatou-se que os sentimentos emergentes após o diagnóstico de DA em um familiar, foram o medo e a insegurança. As respostas foram otimizadas após a intervenção alcançando o objetivo do estudo. Concluiu-se que a intervenção trouxe um impacto positivo na compreensão e conscientização sobre a DA, enfatizando a importância da humanização do olhar humanizado aos familiares identificando os impactos gerados no sistema e facilitando a construção da sua rede de apoio.

Longevity has increased with medical advances, resulting in an older population. Chronic diseases, such as Alzheimer's Disease (AD), affect the elderly and impact their caregivers, whether formal or informal. Early diagnosis, support groups and nursing activities are essential to deal with this condition. The present study aims to guide and make students aware of AD and the psychological impact on the family. It is a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory study. As a data collection instrument, a pre and post-intervention questionnaire with 13 questions was applied to 29 students of the first module of the Technical Nursing Course. The intervention took place through an expository and dialogic class with the aid of visual resources and distribution of a self-authored folder addressing aspects of AD and the support network for families available in the municipality. The results showed that most participants were not familiar with the stages of the disease and the care needed for the patient, as well as the support networks available. In addition, it was found that the feelings that emerged after the diagnosis of AD in a family member were fear and insecurity. The responses were optimized after the intervention reaching the study objective. It was concluded that the intervention had a positive impact on the understanding and awareness of AD, emphasizing the importance of the humanization of the humanized look at the family members, identifying the impacts generated in the system and facilitating the construction of their support network.
