Skate além do alto rendimento: os efeitos da marginalização de skatistas da modalidade street no espaço urbano

Abstract

Resumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa é analisar a existência da marginalização do Skate Street, na busca de entender se mantém a marginalização ao skate iniciante e amador na cidade, tem como justificativa a proibição do skate na cidade de São Paulo que gerou estigmas, violência e preconceito. A metodologia utilizada foi um questionário para em que os skatistas compartilharam suas percepções acerca da existência dos estigmas e reproduções dos preconceitos. A partir das análises foi possível compreender que andar de skate representa um ato social em meio urbano, presente em eventos esportivos e nas ruas, que fortalecem sua cultura e rompe com os estereótipos. Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the marginalization of street skateboarding, seeking to understand if the marginalization of beginner and amateur skateboarders in the city is justified by the prohibition of skateboarding in the city of São Paulo, which generated stigma, violence, and prejudice. The methodology used was a questionnaire in which skateboarders shared their perceptions about the existence of stigmas and the reproduction of prejudices. From the analysis, it was possible to understand that skateboarding represents a social act in na urban environment, present in sporting events and on the streets, which strengthens its culture and breaks with stereotypes.
